The Great Outdoors

Going camping this weekend, my first time in a tent in about 7 years. Despite a dreary weather forecast, I am looking forward to the festivities. Most of my equipment was still in tact, and I still have enough memories from my past experiences to guide me effectively without making a complete fool of myself. Hopefully, I will have a good report after the weekend.

This Past Weekend

We were fortunate to have one of Mandy's friends over Saturday Night, giving him a place to stay the night before he was to be at a meeting in DC. After dropping him off at the hotel Sunday morning, we toured part of the National Gallery of Art. Overall, we were not very impressed. We focused on the sculptures and their collection of British and American art. The sculpture was voluminous and engaging, especially their collections of Rodin and Degas. However, the paintings were not as interesting. There were some nice landscapes, but there was an overabundance of portraits. We skipped some of the other sections on purpose, which is where we will focus our attention during our next visit.
